After I began setting a new trend in 2015, one thing is certain: 2016 will be the year of the hat. Gentlemen, if you don’t want to look old-fashioned next year, I recommend that you ride to the next hatter right away.
I took these photos during my hike to Morro do Pai Inacio, the prominent flat-topped mountain in the background, in Brazil.
In his new film The Hateful Eight, Quentin Tarantino has already jumped on the stagecoach.
I think hats are quite nice and I can’t imagine why people stopped wearing them!
The only objective reason I can think of is that it’s one more item to carry around and hold in your hand when you take it off. Maybe people need their hands for phones now.
But then, hats went out of fashion far before the mobile phone.
I love the films from the 1950s where almost everyone wears a hat.

Ha! I see I commented on this in 2016. Hats are still not in vogue.
We are fighting a losing battle, it seems.
But we shall not give up and remain at the vanguard of fashion development!
Not sure why my phone posted my comments as anonymous- but I do hope headwear gets beyond beanies- good luck with your fight- I’ll keep checking back on this post every couple of years to see how it’s going.
