“Border of Peace and Friendship” was the official name for the East-German-Polish border along the rivers Neisse and Oder.
This morning, between Frankfurt and Słubice, it did indeed look very peaceful and friendly.
Although there are a few border guards on either side, it hardly feels like a border. People live on one side and work on the other, they attend university on one side and live on the other, and they split their errands between two countries.
