Thanks to your countrymen for their assistance. I wish my country would take the same hint – I have a close friend headed there in a couple months. I’m looking forward to your follow-up post!
Some say that the only reasons that we are in Afghanistan at all is to protect the opium trade – the Taliban had started to ban the growing of this crop, which displeased the aristocracy (many blue bloods of the European Royalty, including the Queen of England, have a big stake in this product which has reaped untold wealth to the aristocracy, along with Slavery and Plantations in the New World. – check out the Opium wars between England and China) as well as the real controllers of the US who harvest this crop and sell it all over the world. This brings a lot of money for Black ops and other covert activities without prior approval of Congress as these would be outside of the normal budget. Karzai himself is an Oil Executive and his brother was a well known Drug Lord there. Besides opium Afghanistan has many untapped resources such as lithium, plus a natural gas pipeline cuts through this country on its way to Pakistan. This is what the millitary is there and not to bring any democracy or freedom. And anyways, the average Afghani couldn’t care less for democracy or freedom, as you cannot miss that which you never had. Given a choice of government they would choose Islamic Sharia every time, which is the only form of government that they have ever known. That is, given freedom of choice they would vote for a dictatorial theocracy, complete with the customs and ethics of 7th century barbarism.
Too bad that all these soldiers are dying to safeguard the interests of the few rich and powerful in the world and not for the betterment of mankind.
Bravo Lillian! Please keep up the great work. What the “machine” dosen’t understand is that with all the the MSM selective and disinformation, more and more people are reading these blog sites and starting to see the light. I was starting to feel lonely trying to disspell alot of the things being touted on the MSM sites. We have to keep plugging away. Sharing is caring. Soon we’ll be the voice at the water cooler and then we can look to bring a REAL change in the American mindset.
