About Andreas Moser

Travelling the world and writing about it. I have degrees in law and philosophy, but I'd much rather be a writer, a spy or a hobo.

Oh no! What a shame! It seems to be a Baltic curse – for every beautiful place/building, there are 10 competing monstrosities!

Maybe it was because I didn’t grow up with it and thus it is something new, foreign, exotic to me, but I found some of its examples (like the Academy of Sciences building in Riga) very beautiful.
I even found these Soviet-style apartment blocks quite cozy:

I lived in a couple like that. I guess anything can look nice with the right lighting ;) I don’t have a problem with the Academy of Sciences building actually – I quite like it – same as the one in Warsaw!
