I am waiting for Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan to speak about “the suffering and the inhumane conditions of life in Gaza” again. He probably won’t even notice the irony.

Erdogan is a bloddy opportunist. He only speakes about the “martyrdom” of the palestines if he thinks it will provide him some support from the Turkish people. And since the latter is fading away more and more, you are right that we can expect him soon to stand up one more time against the suffering of the palestines (Who in fact are the only Arabs living in a democracy and benefit from equal right of practising their own religion). Another battle field for Erdogans long-lasting fight for human rights is Germany. He regularily performs as the defender of Turkish minority rights of the people who left their home country and settled here. My friend and colleague Bahar, who is Turkish and Muslim and one of the funniest and hard-working people in our institute, has only disrespect and sarcasm for this wanna-be defender of Turkishhood.
