    Duolingo IS great. Have you tried HelloTalk or GoSpeaky?

    • I only use Duolingo and Memrise, which I find more useful. Duolingo is extremely limited and a lot of the vocabulary doesn’t make sense when presented out of context. It’s not bad as an additional thing, but you can’t really “learn” a language through it (unless maybe the language is similar to another language that you already speak).

  2. That’s funny.

    I thought that I would learn much quicker than I did and it took a while before I realized that I would always be learning. But I’ve found that if you enjoy the process, then everything else is gravy.

    And then, one day I knew enough to read newspapers. Or all of a sudden I could understand that guy who I thought was showing off in group meet-ups, etc.
