Question: How cold is it in Lithuania?
Answer: It is so cold that I saw this “icy” icon in the Google weather forecast for the first time. Not snow, not hail, just ice.
But honestly, it’s not that bad. You get some warm clothes and you get used to it very quickly. During the day, when it is sunny and only -10 degrees, I find it rather mild now and I enjoy walking through the snow.
Such a cold winter has two advantages:
- Everything is covered in snow and looks beautiful.
- Can you imagine how much more I will enjoy and appreciate the first warm days in spring?
what about the humidity? as you know while living in Malta temperatures were above 10 degrees but thanks to the humidity it felt like minus 100! especially inside your apartement
oh…just noted the 92% humidity. you’re living in hell…so to speak!
Honestly, I am not as cold as I was in Malta in winter.
First, it doesn’t feel that humid. It feels completely dry. I don’t know how the weatherman came up with 92%.
Second, there is almost no wind, definitely not like the ferocious storms in Malta.
Third, the house is isolated and has a heating (which you can’t even turn off).
This Lithuanian house in Malta would be perfect. Warm inside and sunny outside.
Where is the 2nd picture from?
I took it at Vilniaus Kalvarijos, the path of the crosses in the north of Vilnius: http://www.vilniauskalvarijos.lt/index.php?id=4&lng=1
