The logic of Nicolas Sarkozy

“We have too many foreigners” in France, said Nicolas Sarkozy before threatening that France might leave the Schengen zone of passport-free travel.

Nicolas Sarkozy forgot to mention that his father is Hungarian, that his mother’s family was originally from Spain, later settled in Greece which was then part of the Ottoman Empire and that they had to flee within France to escape from the Nazis during World War II. By the way, I seem to remember that Mr Sarkozy’s wife is Italian and his previous wife’s parents were from Moldova, Spain and Belgium.

"Madame, I will deport you personally."

The polls must look really dire if somebody with this background resorts to xenophobic bashing of immigrants. I don’t like any of the main contenders of Mr Sarkozy, but I definitely would never vote for such a dangerous agitator.

Hahaha. Thumbs up for this post. Sarkozy has definitely no chance to be a president once again. He is hated by everyone French and immigrants.

I think by ‘foreigners’ Sarkosy meant non-European immigrants.

Spain, Hungary, Italy and other European nations should not have any integration problems since they are all culturally European.

But I do not think he will get elected again – too much austerity, and just lip-service to the immigrant problems.

Even if the socialists get elected, they must do something about ILLEGAL immigration ie those who have no rights to be there in France. That is what the problem is all about, plus those who do not want to integrate. They too are a real problem the real burden on any society and this is what is leading to resentment, racism and hate!

    • We are all immigrants- What burden are you referring to? Is it the burden of you having to face the black Muslim?

Hi Christine, Eric did mention ‘ILLEGAL’, may I respectfully ask, what is the punishment for apostasy in Islam or being Gay or drinking wine or keeping a dog or or or or or or

  5. Stupid! Of course he’ll win the election! He is the only one who realize that Islam is THE biggest threat to humanity!!!

Well said Andreas. His use of scare tactics was a cheap shot, populist whining in fact.
