I just wanted to interrupt my journey to Podlachia for a an hour or so, to stretch my legs and to grab something to eat.
But when I stepped out of the train station in Wrocław, I thought: “Wow. If the train station already looks like a castle, then I am curious what the rest of the city looks like.”
So I decided to stay for two nights.
As I hadn’t prepared this, I have just been wandering around aimlessly. But what an interesting city this is! (More photos coming soon.)

Bin sehr gespannt auf deine Fotos. 1993 war ich zum ersten und letzen Mal an diesem Bahnhof. Damals sah es dort und in der ganzen Stadt aus wie auf einem der Polen-Märkte, die zu der Zeit auch in Berlin überall aufpoppten. Aber es kam uns wie das Paradies vor, denn wir kamen gerade zurück aus Russland und freuten uns, dem Elend dort entronnen zu sein.

Die Stadt ist absolut faszinierend!
Nicht nur schön, sondern auch vielseitig, interessant und cool.
Und der Bahnhof (ich habe vor ein paar Jahren schon einmal eine Nacht dort verbracht), ist ein Vorbild dafür, wie man Bahnhöfe besser als in Deutschland gestalten könnte.
Im Obergeschoss ist jetzt eine Filiale der Stadtbibliothek! Und es gibt Spielzimmer für Kinder. Das ist echt meilenweit besser als unsere DB-Kommerztempel, wo einen die Cops verprügeln, wenn man 60 Minuten nichts gekauft hat.

I have to limit yesterday’s positive statement, as I am sitting on the train all day, looking at the flat and dull landscape of central Poland. 😐
