The Situation on the German-Polish Border

Zur deutschen Fassung.

As you know, I consider timeliness to be overrated, which is why my report from Guben will be written sometime in the next few weeks or months.

But I do not want to withhold the current dramatic developments from you: The Polish Prime Minister threatens “Wold War III”. Poland announces the doubling of its armed forces. And overnight, the German Federal Police blew up the border bridges over the Neisse River.

Smart move or escalation?

My attempts to infiltrate right-wing extremist vigilante groups – purely for reporting purposes, of course – have so far failed because I’m simply not fat, stupid and ugly enough to fit in. I always get found out right away.

About Andreas Moser

Travelling the world and writing about it. I have degrees in law and philosophy, but I'd much rather be a writer, a spy or a hobo.

My god. At least you have the sartorial taste to stay safe.

  3. It’s all those books that give you away, and your ability to speak without slurs and curse words. Maybe if you ditch the books and just grunt a lot?😂 I shouldn’t joke, it’s really not funny. As the world knows, we have plenty of those wingnuts here in the US🤦🏼‍♀️

    • You really have a point there!
I think my smile already gives me away, let alone when I make a joke.
Those extremists are never funny, everything is dead serious, everything is about the end fight between good and evil.
I often wonder if the personality was always there, and people are just looking/waiting for the suitable political theory to come along.

On that note, I, the eternal optimist, will go to a perfectly planned socialist city today: Eisenhüttenstadt.

    • Wikipedia tells me it used to be Stalinstadt. Will there be pictures??🤞

    • That was a very unfortunate choice of name, which was luckily corrected after a few years.

Yes, there will be plenty of photos!
Honestly, it looked fabulous to me, helped by a sunny autumn day.
